The single card has covered frejus for several years but only went as far as st raphael when it first came out. Last year , when the carte isabelle famille was released , it explicitly said alpes maritimes only and only as far as st raphael - and excludng frejus and ventimiglia , Frejus was added later to the alpes maritimes. Equally its not clear if the majority of staff know the answer as I know last year some staff were assuming the conditions for the two cards were the same - even though you can use first class with the single card but not the famille card , etc etc.

I copied this from the current website which hasn't been updated from However the French version does clearly indicate that Ventimiglia was included for Sorry, I just saw you referrred to Carte Famille, my mistake, apologies. There are more limitations on this:. These strange exclusions seem partof that famous French bureaucracy - a bit like that matter with the Route and St Paul de Vence which I never quite understood.

Yes, I remember that 7. But, selkie, I have been giggling uncontrollably at the possible implications ever since you revealed that that Google translates the French 'interdit' as 'permitted' in English and presumably is believed by thousands of tourists. No wonder some visitors get the impression that French people are rude. And think of what could happen at airports with those long lists of prohibited items sorry permitted items. She uses here own initiative and does whatever was needed. She has had her own home so was excellent at everything. She was sharing with a younger girl and we also had other … read more workaways here and she is a team player and got along with everyone. This was a last minute stay for me and Valerie and Tony welcomed me with open arms. I stayed in a cottage with a fellow workawayer and we had our own living area and kitchen with a shared bedroom and private bathroom. The view here is something you cannot pay for! It is high up in the mountains overlooking Cannes with views towards Nice. Valerie … read more is great to get along with and was very grateful for the help I was able to contribute.

Thank you Valerie and Tom for your hospitality. Julia was here for 2 weeks and is from Argentina and speaks excellent English.

We are a holiday complex with 11 different units to sell here. We have quite a great deal of work and usually the marketing does not get enough time. Julia replied to our request for assistance with … read more social media, new markets, and help with anything she could do in marketing. Her background is in Marketing and she has worked in the tourism industry so she was perfect for what we needed to achieve here. We just created a new website and wanted everything in place as it had been neglected by the previous Managers.

She is a very confident, articulate lady and is extremely proficient in what she is experienced in. Julia knows a great deal about marketing and is extremely helpful and patient in explaining what she had done and communicated with the owners of this property. Which is what I exactly needed. She is very social and gets along with all ages, and is a very comfortable person to talk to.

We offer your own self catering luxury apartment which are actually the holiday apartments. We do not offer a 'family home environment', hence the comment about providing food. We provide a welcome and goodbye meal and other meals in between when we have the time to do it. Other workway places do not offer this, usually you have to share and the privacy is most welcomed by the workaways we have had here, currently almost 40 workaways. We only ask 20 hours a week, whereas some require hours a week when providing food also which according to workaways feedback can be quite awful.

We wish Julia well in finding other workaway positions and suggest you utilise her time on what she is proficient in doing although Julia is quite open in doing workaway openings of any kind. Good luck Julia, enjoy your travels and all you do in life. Las cenas de bienvenida y despedida que preparan Valerie y Tony, quienes administran el lugar, son un placer! De todas maneras la comida no es tan cara en el supermercado.

Recomiendo este lugar a quien busque paz en sus voluntariados : I thoroughly enjoyed my two weeks here. The place is very quiet , has amazing views and you can enjoy beautiful walks and hiking. It is on the mountain, about 25 minutes walk from Cabris where you can take the bus to any city on the French Riviera for 1. It was my first experience working entirely as a professional.

I think I left a good job in marketing, social networking, sales platforms, web and market research. They gave me a computer and I worked from home, I managed my own time. This was very confortable for me and something that I really appreciated! The welcome and farewell dinners that Valerie and Tony, who manage the place, preparing are a pleasure!

I think that if at some point, besides accommodation, the owners also offered the food would be great. Anyway the food is not so expensive at the supermarket so that this point will not stop you! I recommend this place to anyone looking for peace in their volunteering way : Thank you very much Valerie y Tony! Cato is from Oslo and speaks excellent English. He was here for 3 weeks and was fantastic. He adapted to anything we asked him to do.

Good luck cato and keep in touch and pop back for a visit. Val and Tony were my first hosts, and I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the Workaway experience.

Thanks for letting me stay, guys, and for the excellent farewell dinner! David was here for 3 months and was extremely helpful to us. Being an ex builder by trade, we were interested in David coming as we felt we could totally rely on him for the varied things we needed around here to be done.

We wanted someone we could give a job to and forget about it. We did not want to be supervising someone as this can take up a … read more great deal of time and sometimes you may as well have done it yourself. As David has mentioned in his feedback, he did some furniture restoration and every time we look at we love how it now looks. He did anything we asked him, painting, repairs in the apartments and grounds help. He is a team player and experienced at least 6 other workaways here at different times and he got along with all of them extremely well.

He is very sociable, pleasant and interesting and very active as he is a keen walker and likes to keep fit. He also had other skills that we were interested in one of them being web site building. We communicated with him before his arrival and he was extremely helpful in advising us regarding our current advertising.

We wanted a person not only to build a website but to also teach me how to do it, as you do have to know how to maintain it also. I basically did not have time nor even know where to begin. He had built a website for his daughter's company and explained to us that he has used specific search engines and had greatly improved her business.

    French Riviera: Cannes and Antibes

We have many people applying here who offer website building and marketing, however I preferred having an older person as they tend to be more patient. This proved to be the case with David. Before he even began building the site, he researched tourism and how people search. He advised us on the best way forward. This is very important as you do have to know the market you are targetting. We now have a wonderful website to be proud of the last one was 10 years old! I know how to maintain it fingers crossed and we are sure this can only enhance sales in this self catering accommodation that we run.

It was a great deal of work as we have 10 units here. He also took some amazing new pictures as he is also a keen photographer. He was extremely informative and had wonderful ideas that he implemented into this site in order to increase our search engine optimization. He exceeded his workaway hours, as once he begins a project of any kind, you can be assured he wants to do it to his utmost ability. Being a keen walker he mapped walks of the area here 50kms and added those to the site which we know will be extremely helpful to our guests. It will also maximise our search engine optimisation for walking holidays.

Three months ago I would not have been able to say that. Now I can comfortably understand search engine optimisation, key headline words for google searches and long tail strings don't ask without feeling incredibly ignorant. Let's face it who has the time.. We think his feedback is very modest and that is why I have written this very informative feedback, as that is exactly what he achieved for us here. In conclusion, if you have David as your workaway you will be extremely fortunate and we were sorry to see him go.

I came to this project in mid-December expecting to stay for 3 or 4 weeks but ended up staying for nearly 3 months. For me personally it has been an extremely good project with agreeable hosts, varied work, fair and flexible hours, wonderful climate, amazing views and surrounded by landscape which is a walker's dream. They are a lovely young couple who are extremely pleasant and have very good english which helped as we don't speak German.. Good luck to you both and glad you enjoyed the recommendations for visiting the area. We stayed 2 weeks at Valerie's and Tony's beautiful mansion. You can truly call it "mansion" beacuse this place has wonderful garden like a little parc and the view is just amazing!
